The recipients are residents of Adams, and have been accepted by an accredited educational institution on a full-time basis. They were selected on the basis of scholastic record, financial need, involvement in the community, character and extracurricular school activities.
The 2008 Town of Adams scholarship recipients are as follows:
From Hoosac Valley High School: Susan Torchia, 17 Leonard St., attending Utica College, Utica, N.Y.; Stephanie Kolis, 2 McKinley St., attending Le Moyne College, Syracuse N.Y.; and Ethan Aitken, 81/2 Orchard St., attending Universal Technical Institute, Norwood.
From McCann Technical High School: Sara Grimaldi, 13 Newark St., attending Fitchburg State College, Fitchburg.
Postgraduates: Preston Keller, 4 Newark St., attending Western New England College, Springfield, and Vanessa Torchia, 17 Leonard St., attending St. Michaels College, Colchester, Vt.
