ADAMS — Artists from Senegal and Mali will give free performances and workshops on Friday, April 3, in a celebration of West African music, dance and stories, hosted by the Berkshire Arts and Technology Charter Public School.

Four workshops will be held at the Church Street Center on the campus of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. The workshops are open to area schools at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis. The day will end with a community concert featuring all of the participating artists, at 7:30 p.m., at the Church Street Center , is free and open to the public. Early arrival is suggested because there are no tickets for the event.

Funding for the celebration, which includes a day-long artists in residence program for BArT students on April 2, was provided by the National Endowment for the Arts.

BArT students' exploration of the range of story-telling styles in cultures around the world will culminate in a multi-media exhibition of student work scheduled to open on Friday, June 12, at Greylock Arts.
