PITTSFIELD -- Town Players of Pittsfield will present two staged readings 2 p.m. Sunday at the Whitney Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Ave.
The first reading, "Mr. Madoff Meets the Crawfish Queen" by local playwright Jamuna Yvette Sirker, is an encore presentation. The play features Jill Wanderman as the Crawfish Queen who is interviewing Bernie Madoff in prison. Melanie Rivers is directing.
The second reading is "The Constituent," a one-act comedy by Ernest Thompson from his collection "Answers."
In Thompson's comedy, we meet a cantankerous voter from Maine who writes venomous letters to his U.S. Senator on a regular basis. Drawn to meet the source of all this attention, the senator shows up unannounced for a visit. Who's right and who's wrong remains to be seen.
Kevin Wixsom plays Chas Potter, the constituent; Tom Gardner plays the senator.
Admission is $5.
