PITTSFIELD -- Town Players of Pittsfield announces auditions for staged readings of two plays by Irish playwrights. The auditions will be held at the Whitney Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Ave., Nov.13 and 14 at 6:30 p.m.
The director is John Trainor.
The performance date is Sunday, Nov. 24.
"The Jest of Hahalaba" by Lord Dunsany deals with a man seeking unlimited wealth through magic and experiencing unexpected results. Needed are males and females of any age. A slightly British dialect would be helpful.
"Spreading the News" by Lady Gregory is a comic one-act about misunderstanding, mistaken identity and the distortion that is inevitable with repeated gossip, including a murder that does not take place. There are 10 males and three females. A generic Irish accent is needed (director will help with this).
