WEST STOCKBRIDGE -- Quiet in the Head, an acoustical music trio, is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m. Friday at No. Six Depot Roastery, Cafe and Gallery, 6 Depot St.
The group comprises guit-
arist Seamus Maynard, violinist Jonathan Talbott and cellist Jonah Thomas.
The ensemble specializes in Middle Eastern and Eastern European-influenced original compositions.
While the core of their music is composed, improvisation is an important element of their work.
A 2008 graduate of Guildhall School of Music and Drama in England, Maynard studied classical guitar with Ed Flower. A cofounder of Quiet in the Head, he has performed as an actor and musician with Actors Ensemble, Triple Shadow, Improbable Theater, Pigeons at the Gate, Fat Gandhi and the Halftones, and Seamus, Meaghan and Seth.
A cofounder of Quiet in the Head, Talbott began his violin studies with Gennady Filimanov of the Seattle Symphony. He has performed with Mother Fletcher, Bobby Previte’s Voo-
doo Orchestra, and The Lucky 5 Jazz Band.
A native of Vermont, Thomas -- another cofounder of Quiet in the Head -- studied cello music composition in Manhattan School of Music’s preparatory program before entering The Juilliard School. Thomas has been a member of the New Juilliard Ensemble, the Juilliard Orchestra, and the Aspen Festival Orchestra.
