Pittsfield: MCLA official to address Zonta Club

The Zonta Club of Berkshire County will meet at 5 p.m. on Monday at Mazzeo’s Ristorante, 1015 South St.

Joshua Mendel, the associate dean of admissions at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, will be the guest speaker.

Activities include a brief networking period, a business meeting, then the guest speaker, followed by dinner.

Zonta International is a worldwide service organization working to advance the status of women. Guests are welcome at all meetings, but reservations are required for dinner.

Pittsfield: BYP offering development seminar

Berkshire Young Professionals will present the next installment of "BYP Power Hour," its quarterly professional development seminar series for young professionals who either live or work in Berkshire County, on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

"The Basics of Planning for the Inevitable" will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Spice Dragon, 297 North St. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 5:30 for networking. The program begins promptly at 6.

Admission is free for BYP membership cardholders, and $10 for those without cards.

Pittsfield: Utility, CET reps to give energy tips

Representatives of the Western Massachusetts Electric Co., Berkshire Gas, and the Center for EcoTechnology will hold a workshop on Thursday, Sept. 20 to share ways that county residents can save both money and the environment.

"How to be Lean, Green and Pristine" will run from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish Hall, 414 North St.

The cost is $10. The workshop is part of the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce’s Nonprofit Business Network’s educational programming for 2012.
