Pittsfield: Commercial banking exec tapped

Sheryl L. McQuade has been named by Berkshire Bank as senior vice president, commercial regional leader, for the bank’s Hartford-Springfield market.

With over 25 years of business banking experience, McQuade will assume leadership of the region’s lending teams, providing strategic direction as the teams work with business customers to help them achieve their financial goals.

McQuade has spent the majority of her banking career with Bank of America in various areas of commercial banking.

She holds an MBA from Western New England University and a bachelor of science degree in finance from Lehigh University.

Pittsfield: Grant-writing workshop set Sept. 19

The Pittsfield Cultural Council will hold a grant-writing workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 19 for those interested in applying for funds in the 2013 grant cycle. Applications for the next round of funding are due on Monday, Oct. 15.

The workshop will run from 6 to 7 p.m. at Spice Dragon, 297 North St. A reception in honor of the Pittsfield Cultural Council’s 2012 grant award recipients will follow from 7 to 8 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

Williamstown: Hillcrest plans Fall Golf Classic

Hillcrest Educational Centers is accepting team and individual registrations for its 11th annual Fall Golf Classic, which will be held on Friday, Sept.

Both Waubeeka Golf Links in Williamstown and Donnybrook Country Club in Lanesborough will host the 208 player, 52 team event. Proceeds benefit Hillcrest Educational Centers, Inc. Entrants are encouraged to register early.

Held under a scramble format, the tournament begins at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.

The cost is $150 per player that includes golf cart, greens fees, luncheon, premium player gift and steak dinner at Waubeeka. Team and individual prizes will be awarded.
