Great Barrington: Wireless Zone Store re-opens

The Wireless Zone Store in Great Barrington has come under new ownership and recently moved to a new location in the Big Y Shopping Plaza at 740 Main St.

The grand opening of the new location takes place today.

This is the fourth Wireless Zone franchise operated by store owner Nate Bastarche, but it is his first in Berkshire County. He also operates Wireless Zone stores in Chicopee, Easthampton and Northampton.

After he purchased the Great Barrington franchise, Bastarche moved the business to its current location. He said the new store’s showroom is four times larger than the showroom had been in the Wireless Zone’s previous location.

Since moving the store, Bastarche said the Great Barrington location is competing with his Easthampton one as a top performer in its market.

Founded in 1988 as "The Car Phone Store," Wireless Zone has become the nation’s largest wireless retail franchisor and was ranked the No. 1 franchise in its category by Entrepreneur magazine. Every store is independently owned and operated, exclusively offering Verizon Wireless products and services.
