Pittsfield: BHS president to address chamber
Berkshire Health Systems President and CEO David Phelps will be the keynote speaker on Wednesday when the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce hosts its next Good News Breakfast Salute at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
The event will run from 7:45 to 9 a.m. The cost is $25 for chamber members, and $35 for non-members.
Bartlett Orchards will be recognized for its 65th year in business; Berkshire South Community Center for its 10th anniversary; and Peter Coombs of FRONTLINE Consulting for his 10 year commitment as a columnist to the chamber’s Berkshire Business News. The Pittsfield Promise Initiative will be the recipient of a special Community Recognition.
Pittsfield: Business forum set on broadband
The Berkshire Chamber of Commerce in coordination with the Pittsfield Economic Revitalization Corporation will host an informational forum, "Making the Most of Broadband," on Thursday, Nov. 1 at the Beacon Cinema, 57 North St.
The event will run from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Admission is free.
The discussion will delve into opportunities MassBroadband 123 is bringing to small businesses; how a small business can determine its IT infrastructure needs and use it in strategic planning; benefits
Registration begins at 8 with the panel discussion starting promptly at 8:30. A question and answer session will follow.

Adams: $18K available in education grants
The Adams-Cheshire Educational Partnership, an endowed fund of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, has allocated nearly $18,000 to worthy applicants within the Adams-Cheshire Regional School District.
The public is encouraged to attend the 10-year Celebration of ACE from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hoosac Valley Middle and High School in Cheshire.
The Adams Cheshire Educational Partnership (ACE) is an endowed fund created to enhance and enrich the educational experience of the students and teachers in the district.
