PITTSFIELD -- A two-alarm fire caused damage to a house near Reid Middle School on Sunday afternoon, according to Pittsfield fire officials.

The owner of the house at 197 Montgomery Ave. Ext. discovered the fire upon returning home about 4:20 p.m., according to Fire Chief Robert Czerwinski.

No other family members were home at the time, but the owner did rescue the family dog.
