Waltham: Life Sciences Center launches intern challenge
The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center has launched its 2013-14 internship challenge. Now in its fifth year, the year-round workforce program offers paid internship opportunities at life sciences companies for both students and recent college graduates.
Over the past four years, the program has placed 1,000 interns at more than 300 life sciences companies across Massachusetts. Nearly 30 percent of those interns were immediately hired for either full or part-time positions with those firms.
Students selected for the internship challenge will be paid up to $15 per hour. Companies with 100 or fewer employees in Massachusetts and not more than 250 globally are eligible to received reimbursement of student stipends. Pittsfield: Berkshire Hills Bancorp holds annual meeting
The Berkshire Hills Bancorp's Board of Directors has voted to hold its annual meeting of shareholders on Thursday, May 9 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The meeting will take place at 10 a.m. Berkshire Hills Bancorp is the holding company for Berkshire Bank.

Berkshires: Bar Association, WGGB-TV offer free legal advice
Western Massachusetts residents can receive free legal advice on Monday, Feb. 11 by participating in a call-in segment presented by the Massachusetts Bar Association and WGGB-TV, which broadcasts ABC40 and Fox6 in Springfield.
"Your Money Monday: Lawyers in the Line" will take place between 5:30 and 6 p.m. during ABC40's evening newscast. The phone number is (413) 846-0240. Normal telephone charges will apply. The phones will be staffed by MBA attorneys. The legal advice is provided at no charge as a public service.
