Stockbridge: Garden to offer landscape course
The Berkshire Botanical Garden and Berkshire Community College are offering an evening certificate course, Landscape Design I, which is designed for either serious home gardeners or landscape professionals.
The course is being offered on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m., March 5 through April 2, at the Berkshire Botanical Garden. Berkshire County landscape architect Craig Okerstrom-Lang is the instructor.

Lee: Wastewater plant earns EPA honors
The Wastewater Treatment Plant in Lee has been selected to receive a 2012 Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Excellence Award from the Environmental Protection Agency.
The plant's staff -- Superintendent Alan Zerbato, operators Todd Tyer and Craig Rand, and laborer Myron Ford -- were recognized by the EPA's New England office for exceptional work in operating and maintaining the plant.
Lee's plant was among five facilities in New England, and two in Berkshire County, that were acknowledged for exceptional performance. The wastewater treatment plant in Adams received a similar honor.

Sheffield: March 15 deadline for W'town fund
The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation has set Friday, March 15 as the deadline to submit a letter of intent for 2013 applications for the Fund for Williamstown.
The fund invites applications for innovative projects and services that benefit residents of Williamstown and help create a vibrant community responsive to diverse needs and voices.
Individuals, nonprofit organizations, community organizations and public agencies may send a one-page letter briefly outlining the project to firstname.lastname@example.org. They will be notified by March 20 as to whether or not the advisory committee has selected their project to submit a full application. If selected, full grant applications will be due by April 1.
