Hear stories behind the artwork in the county's museums this weekend.

Israeli artist Izhar Patkin sees the potential of the space where his ‘The Wandering Veil' exhibit is being installed in Mass MoCA's largest gallery space at the museum in North Adams. Patkin will speak at a reception for the exhibit Saturday at 2 p.m. www.massmoca.org

The Williams College Museum of Art, at top, will host its January ‘WCMA at Night' event, Blank Slate, tonight at 5, in the week before its new shows appear in the galleries. In an empty museum, the walls become canvas, with refreshments and live music. The event is free and open to all at 15 Lawrence Hall Drive, off Route 2, Williamstown.

Norman Rockwell stands at right with the Lane family, who worked with him on his painting, ‘Glen Canyon Dam.' Jane Allen Petrick will tell the stories of the Lanes, who are Navajo, and more of Rockwell's models and colleagues in a talk about her book, ‘Hidden in Plain Sight: The Other People in Norman Rockwell's America,' at 2 p.m. Saturday.
