BENNINGTON -- Tret Fure, a singer/songwriter well-known for her work in the women's music field, will perform on Friday, Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m., at the Meetinghouse Café at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Bennington, 108 School St.
Fure began her professional work as a performer in the Midwest and California. She left the mainstream music industry and discovered the genre of women's music.
After six acoustic releases on her own label, Tomboy Girl Records, in 2009, she received the Janine C Rae Award for her work in Women's Music.
In 2009, she was voted "Pride In The Arts Favorite Female/Lesbian Musician," and her most recent album, "The Horizon," finished in the top 20 CDs for 2011 in the Outvoice Charts.
Her new release, "A Piece of the Sky," continues her tradition of songwriting.
