We hate to admit it, but as August winds down and the cool mountain air kicks up the breeze, summer seems to be winding down. But before you turn the calendar to September and break out the pumpkin-flavored everything, there is still time to fit in warm-weather fun. So grab your sunglasses, put down that sweater and make sure you put these on your end-of-summer to-do list:
Enjoy summer's gold by chomping on some local corn on the cob. Check with your local farmers markets for the freshest, or even better, take a Saturday drive around some back roads and look for road-side stands. Remember to bring cash.
There are still a few outdoor concerts to enjoy before local musicians pack up for the summer and head indoors. North Adams, Mass., still has multiple free outdoor concerts going on. Check our music calendar listing for more options.
Dip your toes in a local pond, or take in one of the many panoramic views these mountains have to offer. Whatever you do, get outdoors. For a complete list of outdoor opportunities in the region, visit www.berkshiresweek.com.
