See rare quilt close up
Even if you can't sew a button on a shirt, you'll appreciate the delicate craftsmanship of the "1863 Jane Stickle Quilt," at the Bennington Museum. The quilt is a prized possession of the museum on view for a short time each year.
Head over to the Knox Gallery at the Monterey, Mass., library to see Anne Shatas' and William Carlson's "Rediscovered and Reconsidered." The show, which uses eclectic materials, is on display through Friday.
Family fun at Sugar Hill
Bring the whole family to the beautiful grounds of the Sugar Hill Mansion in Dalton, Mass., for the Autumn Car Show on Sunday. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be food, live music and fun at the Main Street location. Free admission.

Eat some chili and run it off
Bring your running shoes and your appetite to the Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires' Chili Chowder Fall Festival on Saturday. Stop by Camp Russell in Richmond, Mass., from 1 to 6 p.m. and eat chili and chowder for $20. A 5K will proceed the event.
Dust off that snowmobile
Show off your vintage snowmobile or tractor at the fourth annual Knox Trail Sno-Riders Vintage Snowmobile and Tractor Show plus Swap Meet on Sunday, on Tannery Road in Otis. Stop by from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to admire.

Visit an old fashioned country fair at the annual Peru Fair in Peru, Vt. Enjoy music, family fun and Vermont goodies from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. A parade kicks off at 9:45 a.m. Rumor has it the pig roast is delicious.
