A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck three miles west of Hollis Center, Maine, just after 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening, with Berkshires residents feeling it across a wide swath of the county.
Readers on The Eagle's Facebook page reported they felt the 7:12 p.m. quake in Pittsfield, Dalton, Monterey, Adams, Cheshire, Lanesborough, Great Barrington and elsewhere, with one person in Dalton posting: "Everything in my house was shaking."
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage in Berkshire County.
