Great Barrington: Big Y to launch pharmacy
Big Y Foods Inc. is opening a pharmacy at its world class market at 700 Main Street today. It is the 41st pharmacy that Big Y operates at the Springfield-based chain’s 64 stores in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Pharmacy hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Prescription files from the Rite Aid at 700 Main St. in Great Barrington will be transferred to the Big Y pharmacy and will be available at 9 a.m. today in time for the store’s opening.
Williamstown: Community Chest meeting set
The Williamstown Community Chest will hold its 85th annual meeting on Wednesday at The Williams Inn.
The results of the Chest’s 2011-12 annual campaign will be announced at the meeting. Presently, the campaign has attained 84 percent of the $250,000 desired goal. Donations made now will help the Community Chest meet its goal and better serve Northern Berkshire County.
The evening will also feature presentation of the Community Chest’s Volunteer of the Year Award to Jill Strawbridge. The award is presented annually to honor a person whose outstanding service has contributed significantly to the well-being of the community.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. and is open to all interested people. In addition to the campaign report, the agenda includes a brief financial report and election of directors and officers. A social hour and dinner will follow.

Adams: Summit restaurant to begin serving
Bascom Lodge at Mount Greylock Reservation will be open for lunch and dinner the weekend of May 19-20, and during Memorial Day weekend from May 25-28. Lunch takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., while dinner starts at 7 p.m.
The lodge will be fully open for breakfast, lunch and dinner starting on Friday, June 1. Opening weekend events take place on Saturday, June 2, followed by a beekeeping demonstration by the Northern Berkshire Beekeeping Association on Sunday, June 3.
