Pittsfield: Dress shop to celebrate opening
Deidre’s Special Day will hold an official grand opening celebration for its store in the Berkshire Common with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday.
The festivities will continue through Saturday, Nov. 24, when Deidre’s will hold its first "Dash for the Dress" event beginning at 8 a.m. Wedding gowns will be offered at low prices for the entire day.
Deidre’s is located at 2 South St. across from Park Square.
Pittsfield: Acupuncturist opens Allendale site
Licensed acupuncturist Denise Devereaux has opened a community acupuncture office in the underground at the Allendale Shopping Center. Her office is located inside Madden Chiropractic.
A Berkshire native, Devereaux has worked in the health care industry for 19 years, and is board certified in both acupuncture and herbal medicine.
The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Walk-ins are welcome. Rates are $25 for each acupuncture session, and $15 for a weekly herbal prescription. Discounted rates are provided for military veterans.
Specialties include preventative care, fertility, chronic or acute pain, and digestive issues.
Adams: Longtime bank employees retire
Two long-time employees have recently retired from Adams Community Bank.
Senior Vice President Allyn Basel retired after 37 years of service with the bank, while Nancy Hunt, the manager of the bank’s Williamstown branch, retired after 24 years.
Basel began her banking career at Adams Co-operative Bank in 1974 after graduating from the former North Adams State College with a bachelor of science degree. She started as a teller at the bank’s Park Street branch in Adams, and became vice president in 1996. Basel was promoted to senior vice president in 2011.
Hunt spent nine years with the bank as a customer service representative before she was promoted to assistant branch manager. In 1998, Hunt was promoted to branch officer. She has managed the Williamstown location and its five staff members for 14 years.
Doreen Descoteau is currently serving as the interim branch manager of the bank’s Williamstown office.
