Pittsfield: Bank holds community service program
Berkshire Bank is holding its first "Season of Service" holiday giving back campaign in which bank employees will perform a variety of community service projects in cities and towns throughout its four-state coverage area.
The campaign began on Monday, and runs through Dec. 21. Berkshire Bank employees are also inviting the public to join with them to support local children and families in need this holiday season. More than 150 Berkshire Bank employees are expected to participate. All the service projects will benefit nonprofit organizations and families. They were selected and organized by Regional Employee Volunteer Committees.
Berkshire County projects include branch offices and departments adopting children and families in partnership with the Department of Children & Families (DCF) Pittsfield office. A variety of service projects are also scheduled, including the distribution of Christmas gifts and food to families with the Salvation Army, and wrapping presents and raising funds for the Berkshire County Chapter of the American Red Cross at the Berkshire Mall in Lanesborough.

Lenox: Cranwell wins SpaFinder Wellness awards
Cranwell Resort, Spa and Golf Club has won two 2012 awards in the "Best of Golf" and "Best for Affordability" categories by SpaFinder Wellness, a global spa and wellness resource. This recognition is given annually to the top 10 most-voted spas in 27 categories by spa-goers around the world.
The "Best for Affordability" vote comes since Cranwell's year round spa packages consistently provide some of the best value at a New England spa.
The "Best for Golf" recognition is substantiated by the long tradition of golf at this historic year-round resort at a course that was built in 1926 by Wayne Styles and John Van Kleek.
