Pittsfield: Berkshire Bank names new sales VP
Berkshire Bank has selected its New York regional manager, Heather Lashway, to be vice president sales and product manager.
In her new capacity, Lashway will work closely with Berkshire’s retail banking managers to ensure that products and services are effectively communicated to customers while maintaining outstanding customer satisfaction.
She will also work cooperatively with other business areas to ensure all financial needs of customers, including lending, insurance and wealth management, are being met.
Lashway joined Berkshire Bank as vice president, regional manager -- New York Region in April 2011, bringing with her 17 years of experience in retail banking.
In 2012, the Albany, N.Y., Business Review named Lashway to its list of "Forty Under Forty" honorees. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Saint Michael’s College.
Pittsfield: Training set for small businesses
The Berkshire Regional Office of the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center will host U.S. Small Business Administration training for small businesses in Berkshire County on Thursday, Jan. 10.
The session will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Berkshire Regional Office at 33 Dunham Mall.

Sheffield: Clarksburg artist nets award
Mary-Ellen Beattie of Clarksburg has received the 2012 Tupelo Award from the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.
A fund of Berkshire Taconic, the Tupelo Award allows individuals throughout the region an opportunity to deepen and enrich an abiding passion or serious interest through study, travel, research and development of a specific project. The opportunity must be one that will broaden the applicant’s view of the world and expand his or her horizons.
Beattie is an artist who graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., with a dual degree in studio and art history. In 2010, she attend Jingdezhen Ceramics institute in China to study pottery and contemporary ceramic sculpture.
