Pittsfield: BVB members join state's Tourism Day
Four members of the Berkshire Visitors Bureau will join state tourism leaders and legislators on Wednesday for the state's Tourism Day ceremonies, which take place at the State House.
Lauri Klefos, Dara Kaufman, Lindsey Schmid and board Chairwoman Betsy Strickler are the BVB members who will attend the event.
Secretary of Housing & Economic Development Gregory Bialecki, state Tourism Director Betsy Wall, and Tourism Arts & Culture Development Committee chairs, Rep. Cory Atkins and Sen. Kathleen O'Connor-Ives are expected to speak at the event, which coincides with National Tourism Week.
The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Plans for Tourism Day include a showcase of regional food offerings and marketing programs from all 16 designated regional tourism councils throughout the Commonwealth. The Berkshires will be featuring locally made treats from Klara's Cookies, Ioka Valley Farm and Mystical Rose Herbal Teas.
Pittsfield: Annual Chamber Nite will be on May 15
The Berkshire Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Chamber Nite event on Wednesday, May 15 at United Personnel on 76 North St.
The hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Admission is free for all chamber members and their employees.
Holyoke: Rep. Neal named event's keynote speaker
U.S. Rep. Richard E. Neal, D-Springfield, will be the keynote speaker on Friday when the Massachusetts Export Center hosts a forum to discuss opportunities for Western Massachusetts exporters.
The event takes place at 8 a.m. at Holyoke Community College.
Norwood: Coakley to host 2013 Energy Summit
State Attorney General Martha Coakley will host Associated Industries of Massachusetts' 2013 Energy Summit on Monday, May 20.
Policy makers and clean energy advocates will discuss opportunities to maximize innovative reforms enacted over the past several years.
The event takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sheraton Four Points.
