Dalton: BYP to hold golf tournament Sunday
The Berkshire Young Professionals will hold their fifth annual golf tournament on Sunday at Wahconah Country Club.
The tournament will be held under a four-person scramble format. Registration takes place at 1 p.m., followed by a shotgun start at 2 p.m.
The cost for single players is $70 for BYP members, and $85 for those without membership cards. The price for teams of four is $280 for BYP members, and $340 for those without cards.
Williamstown: Acclaimed artist to open gallery
The Barbara Prey Gallery will open this week at 71 Spring St., and an opening reception will take place at the gallery from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday.
The gallery will exhibit the artwork of internationally acclaimed artist Barbara Ernst Prey, an American painter and Williams College graduate who has exhibited extensively overseas. She maintains a studio in Williamstown, where she has been exploring a new body of work of the area landscape.
Prey was appointed by the president of the United States to the National Council on the Arts, the advisory board of the National Endowment of the Arts. She served as an adjunct faculty member at Williams this winter. Prey was recently honored when NASA commissioned her to paint four paintings for their collection.

Sheffield: $18K in agriculture grants awarded
The Green Pastures Fund, a fund of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, has awarded $18,000 in grants to 14 nonprofits in the organization's tri-state coverage area.
The Green Pastures Fund was established at Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation in 1999 by an anonymous donor. The fund's mission is to preserve and encourage small, community-based agricultural ventures.
Berkshire County nonprofits who received grants include: Berkshire Grown Inc.; the Berkshire Natural Resources Council Inc.; the city of Pittsfield; Greenagers; Hancock Shaker Village; Third Sector New England Inc./Carrot Project; Pittsfield Church of Christ; the Nature Institute Inc.; and the Nutrition Center.
