Lenox: Winstanley a Social Madness finalist
Winstanley Partners has been selected as one of 43 finalists in Social Madness, a national endeavor hosted by American City Business Journals that is designed to measure the social media and networking performance of companies across the country.
The final national round takes place on Tuesday. The three national winners of the 11-week challenge in the small, medium, and large size categories will be announced on Aug. 20.
They will each be awarded $10,000 to be given to a nonprofit organization of their choice. Winstanley has chosen the Berkshire Theatre Group.
Social Madness measures a company's social media engagement through a variety of outlets. Activity on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Google+pages is measured, and votes are counted on bizjournals.com.

North Adams: Free seminar by financial adviser
Walter Lother, an Edward Jones financial adviser in North Adams, will host a free 50-minute educational seminar on Thursday, July 25.
The seminar, "Foundations of Investing," will begin at 6 p.m. at the North Adams Public Library on Church Street.
Key features of bonds, stocks and mutual funds, the importance of asset allocation, and the impact of inflation on long-term goals will be discussed.

Pittsfield: BMC earns honors in cardiology
Berkshire Medical Center has received the American College of Cardiology Foundation's NCDR ACTION Registry -- GWTG Gold Performance Award for 2013. BMC is one of only 32 hospitals nationwide to receive this award.
The award recognizes BMC's commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients, and signifies that BMC has reached an aggressive goals of treating these patients to standard levels of care as outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations.
