Pittsfield: Ethics workshop planned for Sept. 10
Berkshire Area Health Education will hold a workshop titled, "Ethics for Prevention" from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10. It is the first installment of AHEC's four-part fall training calendar.
The workshop will be held at Epoch Assisted Living at Melbourne. Tanya A. Hills, MPP, CPS, is the presenter.
Hills will discuss ethics, and the Prevention Code of Ethics and Law 42 CFR, Part 2, as it applies to the prevention field. This course is a requirement for anyone wishing to become certified as a prevention specialist.
The cost is $75 if paid by Sept. 4, or $85 at the door. It includes coffee, pastries, lunch, course materials and a certificate of completion. Those completing the workshop will receive six credits applicable to substance abuse counselors, nurses, licensed mental health counselors, social workers and licensed marriage and family therapists.

Stockbridge: Get your horticulture certification
The Berkshire Botanical Garden will be holding a horticulture certificate program beginning in September. The course is open to seasoned professionals and homeowners looking to take matters into their own hands.
Instructors are professionals working in the field who bring a hands-on, field study approach to the classroom.
Waltham: Raytheon head to speak at forum
Lynn Dugle, the president of Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services, will be the guest speaker when Associated Industries of Massachusetts holds "Hackers at the Gate," an executive forum on cybersecurity from 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at the Westin Hotel in Waltham.
Dugle will discuss the global cybersecurity threat and what it means to the nation and the economy. Raytheon IIS is one of the largest cybersecurity businesses in the United States.
The cost is $55 per person for AIM members, and $90 per person for non-members. The cost for government officials is $45. The cost for a party of 10 is $550 for AIM members, $900 for non-members.
