Pittsfield: BPW seeks sponsors for dinner
Berkshire Business and Professional Women is seeking sponsors for this year’s annual dinner that will honor Berkshire Community College President Ellen Kennedy as BPW’s 2013 Woman of Achievement.
The event takes place on Monday, Oct. 21 at the Country Club of Pittsfield. All the proceeds from the dinner benefit the BBPW scholarship program.

Sheffield: Taconic Foundation sets deadline
The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation has set Thursday, Oct. 10 as the deadline to submit applications for the Central Berkshire Fund, one of eleven permanently endowed area funds the nonprofit maintains that serve a specific geographic region.
Grants are available to nonprofit organizations, community groups or public agencies that serve the residents of Becket, Cummington, Dalton, Hinsdale, Peru, Washington or Windsor.
The fund will award up to $37,000 this year, with a priority for programs and projects that enhance early childhood development for children between the ages of 0-6 years.

Lee: Town native awarded by BusinessWest.com
Lee native Adrian Bailey Dion, the COO of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, has been named to this year’s "40 under Forty Class of 2013" by BusinessWest.com, the business journal of Western Massachusetts.
Dion, 31, has been with the Grinspoon Foundation since 2008. She has been involved in operating and growing the PJ Library, one of the foundation’s signature programs, which supports literacy and values development in children ages 1-8 through the purchase and delivery of age-appropriate Jewish books.
She has also helped make Save the Bounty, a program that supports shares in local farms, a more viable business.
Dion lives with her family in Granville.
