Lenox: Health ed training on infectious disease
Berkshire Area Health Education Center (AHEC) will present the second installment of its four-part Fall Training Calendar on Friday.
"Update in Infectious Disease" will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the Olmstead Building at Cranwell Resort, Spa and Golf Club.
Three highly regarded health care providers and professors will discuss approaches in treating HCV infection in HIV patients; practical approaches to HIV prevention and updates on STD treatment.
Many disciplines will benefit from the workshop and continuing education credits are offered as follows: 4 CME, nursing, respiratory, LMHC, substance abuse counselors, SW, 0.4 or 4 OT, NHA, radiologic technologists, registered dieticians, and EMTs.
The cost is $70, and includes coffee, lunch, course materials and certificate of completion.

Springfield: Construction supervisor training set
The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Western Massachusetts is sponsoring a six-session course to prepare for the Massachusetts Construction Supervisor's Licensing Exam.
It will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the Home Builders & Remodelers Association's headquarters, 240 Cadwell Dr., Springfield. Pizza and soda will be provided.
The license exam is authorized by the state Board of Building Regulations and Standards. Registration forms for the state exam will be distributed at the first session.

Pittsfield: YMCA golf tourney registration open
The Pittsfield Family YMCA is accepting registrations for its ninth annual golf tournament on Monday at Berkshire Hills Country Club.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will support the YMCA's general scholarship campaign which provides financial assistance for memberships, child care, before and after school program and more.
The festivities begin at 11:30 a.m. A shotgun start is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
