Pittsfield: BLP now accepting applications
Applications are now being accepted for the 2014 Berkshire Leadership Program. The deadline to submit applications is Jan. 7, 2014.
Now in its 17th year, BLP seeks, prepares, involves, and sustains leaders from diverse backgrounds who are committed and competent to address community challenges and improve the quality of life in the Berkshires.
More than 400 community-minded individuals have graduated from the program since its inception in 1997.
Each year up to 30 candidates are selected to participate in the program. Selection is based on a written application and written references. The cost to participate is $649 and includes all meals and overnight accommodations at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort during the opening retreat. Limited financial assistance is available.
Williamstown: Women's group to honor Coakley
Northern Berkshire Business and Professional Women will honor state Attorney General and North Adams native Martha Coakley as its 50th Woman of Achievement on Wednesday, Oct. 16. The dinner will take place at the Williams Inn.

Pittsfield: Primary care doctor joins practice
Dr. Heather B. Flynn has joined the Hillcrest Family Health physician practice, which provides primary care services to patients throughout the area, Berkshire Health Systems has announced.
Flynn, who most recently practiced with Community Health Programs in Great Barrington, joins Drs. Robert Davenport, Svetlin Dinovski, Mehernosh Khan and Christopher Trancynger at Hillcrest Family Health, located at 631B North St.
Flynn is board certified in Family Practice Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed her residency in family medicine at Boston Medical Center.
