Pittsfield: Career workshops start today
The BerkshireWorks Career Center has scheduled a series of workshops that will run through early next week.
"Interview More Effectively" will take place from 10 a.m. to noon today. On Friday, "Career Decision Making Assessment" will he held from 10 a.m. to noon, while "Labor Market Information" takes place from 2 to 3 p.m.
On Monday, a veterans-specific workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a Job Club session -- "Interview Mosquitos -- Swat Them Before They Bite!" from 1 to 2 p.m.
On Tuesday, South County Job Search Assistance will take place at Berkshire Community College's South County campus in Great Barrington from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but preregistration is required.
Berkshires: MCLA to hold artists seminars
The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts' Berkshire Cultural Resource Center in partnership with the IS183 Art School and Pittsfield Office of Cultural Development will be holding three "Tricks of the Trade" seminars that focus on how artists might keep up with the digital era.
They will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5 in North Adams; Wednesday, Nov. 6 in Pittsfield; and Thursday, Nov. 7 in Lenox. All three events start at 6 p.m. They are free and open to the public.
In North Adams, BCRC Director Jonathan Secor will moderate a panel of guest speakers in "Capturing Your Audience Today, for the Audiences of the Future." The event takes place at MCLA Gallery 51.
In Pittsfield, Megan Whildren, director of the Pittsfield Office of Cultural Development, and Joshua Field of Orbit Visual will speak about the importance of utilizing social media to raise greater awareness of artists' work. That event will be held at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts at 28 Renne Ave.
In Lenox, Field will take participants through the process of furthering their digital leanings by helping them create their own websites in a workshop titled, "The Art of Creating Your Website." That event will take place at the IS183 Art School.
