Lenox: Author to speak on efficiency at BBPW
Author Laurie McLeod will be the guest speaker when Berkshire Business and Professional Women holds its monthly dinner meeting on Monday, Jan. 6 at Cranwell Resort, Spa & Golf Club.
McLeod is the author of "Getting Things Done in Ten Minutes a Day/The Simple Lifesaving Method for Getting Things Done" and will speak on helping members efficiently navigate through their busy professional lives.
Networking takes place from 5:30 to 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 p.m. then the speaker.
Registration/cancellation deadline is Thursday, Jan. 2. You will be charged for dinner if you RSVP and don’t attend.

Pittsfield: BAPLS to hold annual meeting
The Berkshire Association for Paralegals and Legal Secretaries will hold its annual business meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at Zucchini’s Restaurant, 1331 North St.
The guest speaker will be Berkshire Probate Court Judge Richard Simons who will speak on the new child support guidelines. The business meeting will take place from 5:30 to 6 p.m., followed by dinner and the speaking program.
The cost is $25 per person for members, $30 per person for non-members. RSVP is required by Friday, Jan. 3. There will be no exceptions.

Williamstown: Chef joins Mezze Bistro
Pedro Rangel has joined Mezze Bistro & Bar as chef, the eatery has announced.
Originally from Chicago, Rangel is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Chicago (formerly known as The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago).
He has worked at several noted restaurants including Tru in Chicago, and Uchi in Austin, Texas, and most recently at Bedford Post in Bedford, N.Y.
Rangel has also worked with Chef Douglas Rodriguez, globally acclaimed godfather of Nuevo Latino Cuisine, whose culinary creativity has changed the image of Latino food in America.
