Dewkett named to post at Porchlight VNA
Dawn Dewkett has been named the director of Porchlight VNA/Home Care’s home care division, president and CEO Holly Chaffee has announced.
A native of the Berkshires, Dewkett has more than three decades of clinical experience in home care, and also in visiting nurse services, acute care and clinical research.
She most recently served as the HospiceCare coordinator for VNA Care Network and Hospice, where she was employed for 15 years.
Dewkett began her career in Berkshire County working for both Berkshire Medical Center and the Berkshire Visiting Nurse Association. She served as a primary then admission nurse at Berkshire VNA from 1992-98.
Dewkett earned an associates degree in science from Berkshire Community College in 1988, and a bachelor of science degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1997.

award from MLS Club
Dan Dropkin-Frank, a New Lebanon native who is an account executive for the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer, received a bronze award for group ticket sales at the MLS Club and Executive Awards which were held recently in Philadelphia.
Dropkin-Frank is in his third year as an account executive with the Revolution. He joined the team from the National Sales Center, and has grown his group-sales business each year he’s been with the Revs.
Pittsfield Co-op raises $24K for United Way
Pittsfield Cooperative Bank employees raised $12,257 for the Berkshire United Way during the organization’s 2013-14 fundraising campaign.
After the employees’ contributions were tabulated, the bank’s Board of Directors announced it would match that contribution, bringing the bank’s final total to $24,514.
According to the Co-op’s Business Manager Sean Robertson, 94 percent of his colleagues made a financial contribution.
Fairview receives award
Fairview Hospital has received a 2013 Outstanding Patient Experience Award by Healthgrades, the nation’s leading online provider of comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals.
Fairview was one of nine hospitals in Massachusetts to receive this distinction, and was the only hospital to be recognized in western Massachusetts. It is ranked among the top 15 percent of all hospitals that were evaluated.
The Outstanding Patient Experience Award recognizes the high performance of hospitals that have been evaluated by their patients in patient surveys collected after their discharge from the hospital by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
