Boston: Gov. to speak at trade symposium

Gov. Deval Patrick will be the keynote speaker when Associated Industries of Massachusetts’ International Business Council holds a trade symposium on doing business in Mexico on Tuesday.

The symposium will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. at Holland & Knight LLP, 10 St. James Ave. Mexico is the state’s third largest trading partner, and Patrick recently returned from a trade mission to Panama and Mexico.

Following Patrick’s remarks, a business panel will address opportunities and challenges in Mexico-Massachusetts trade. The moderator is Rosabeth Moss Kanter, Arbuckle Professor at Harvard Business School.

North Adams: Tech Summit 2014 scheduled

The Williamstown Chamber of Commerce, North Adams Chamber of Commerce and Franklin County Community Development Corp. will hold Tech Summit 2014 on Wednesday, April 23, at McCann Technical School.

The event takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. It includes a half day of workshops on topics relevant to businesses. The presentations include search engine optimization; web design options; Google place & Google business photos; how-to-tips for email marketing; and social media marketing.

The cost is $20 and includes coffee and muffins, lunch and the full program of presentations. The registration deadline is Monday. Participation is capped at 40 attendees.

Williamstown: Benefit wine tasting on tap

Northern Berkshire Business & Professional Women will hold a wine tasting and silent auction on Friday, April 25 at the Williams Inn. The hours are 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The event is the NBBPW’s second annual fundraiser for its scholarship fund.

Tickets are $35 in advance, and $40 at the door.
