Pittsfield: Boutique to hold grand opening

Ancient Language Inc., a retail boutique, has relocated its flagship store to 305 North St., and will be holding a grand opening ceremony at its new place of business at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Mayor Daniel L. Bianchi will conduct the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Owner Annette Kramek will conduct a behind-the-scenes tour of how she and her employees design and manufacture clothing.

Ancient Language Inc. started out as a wholesale brand sold to yoga boutiques and destination spas. Throughout the past decade, Annette has grown her business to a national yoga wear brand.

Williamstown: VanSant to talk at NBBPW meet

Gwendolyn VanSant, executive director of the Multicultural BRIDGE, will speak when Northern Berkshire Business and Professional Women hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 28, at the Williams Inn.

Networking will take place from 6 to 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner. The cost for dinner is $25.

Pittsfield: Berkshire Bank names new VP

Jody DeMarco has been promoted to the new role of vice president, regional branch manager at Berkshire Bank.

In her new position, DeMarco will be responsible for Berkshire’s Capital West New York branch locations including Cairo, Glenville, Greenville, Ilion, Johnstown, Little Falls, Rotterdam, Sanford Farms and West Winfield. She will be based out of Berkshire’s Johnstown, N.Y., office.

DeMarco joined Berkshire Bank in 2011 as a branch officer. She had previously worked for Citizens Bank as a branch manager. She received her business certificate from Hamilton Fulton Montgomery County VoTech.
