Stockbridge: Twin scholarships awarded
The High Meadow Foundation has awarded the Red Lion Inn Scholarship to Jennifer Hernandez, of Pittsfield, and the Country Curtains Scholarship to Bridget Coen, of Coventry, R.
Hernandez, a 2014 graduate of Taconic High School, is planning to attend the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University in Boston. Coen will be attending the University of Rhode Island in the fall.
Founded in 1984 by the late Jane and John Fitzpatrick and their companies, the High Meadow Foundation each year awards up to four scholarships to eligible employees or children of employees at Country Curtains, the Housatonic Curtain Co., and The Red Lion Inn/Blantyre.
An independent three-member panel of community members reviews and selects the students to receive the $1,500 scholarship. Since its inception, more than 100 college students have received scholarships from The High Meadow Foundation.
