Richard J. Belair, the director of human resources for Hillcrest Educational Centers Inc., has been appointed president of the Berkshire County Regional Employment Board.
BCREB is responsible for overseeing Berk-
shire County’s employment and training system. Belair was appointed to the position by Pittsfield Mayor Daniel L. Bianchi, who holds that responsibility through his role as the highest elected official of the Berkshire’s largest municipality.
Although BCREB members are appointed for two-year terms, they serve until their successors are appointed.
New CEO appointed
at Workman Publishing
Dan Reynolds of North Adams, the CEO and president of Storey Publishing, has been appointed chief executive officer of Workman Publishing Co. in New York, N.Y. He will transition into the role immediately, and relocate to New York City full time on Oct. 1.
As the CEO and president of both Storey Publishing and Timber Press of Portland, Ore., Reynolds has been part of the Workman Publishing Co. since 2001 when John and Martha Storey sold their business to Peter Workman.
Reynolds’ mandate in his new role is to grow all five imprints of Workman Publishing: Workman, Algonquin Books, Artisan Books, Storey Publishing and Timber Press.
New agent joins William Pitt Sotheby
Steven Weisz, a real estate professional with 30 years of experience, has joined William Pitt Sotheby International Realty, the company has announced. He will be based in the company’s Great Barrington office.
A recent transplant from New York City who currently lives in Monterey, Weisz has experience in all aspects of the real estate industry.
A native of Queens, N.Y., Weisz grew up in Fair Lawn, N.J. He graduated from the University of Michigan before returning to New York to pursue his career in real estate.
A member of the Actors Guild, Weisz is also involved with many local government and community groups.
