Osher director named to Nonprofit Network

Megan Whilden, the executive director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Berk shire Com munity College, has been appoin ted to the Mass achusetts Non profit Network, a statewide org anization that unites and stre ngthens the non profit sector th rough advocacy, public awareness and capacity-building.

A Pittsfield resident, Whil den has more than two decades of experience working with cultural nonprofits including a decade as the city of Pittsfield's first cultural development director.

Berkshire Bank welcomes new trader

Thaddeus Welch III has been hired as a portfolio research analyst and trader at Berkshire Bank where he will join the wealth management team. He will be lo cated at the bank's wealth management office at 25 Main St. in Lenox.

In this position, Welch will be responsible for managing all trading activities and performing fundamental economic, and sector research to assist in generating overall investment strategies.

He will also work with clients to customize their portfolios for appropriate risk-reward allocations and to achieve long term goals. His areas of specialization are trading, research equity and portfolio management.

Great Barrington:

CEO named Business Person of the Year

Rick Cantele, the president and CEO of Salisbury Bank and Trust Company and Salisbury Bancorp Inc., has been named Business Person of the Year by the Southern Berkshire Cham ber of Commerce.

He will be honored on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at a gathering that will be held at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge. The hours are 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
