North Adams: BYP to hold networking social
The Berkshire Young Professionals will hold their monthly networking social on Thursday at Mass MoCA. The hours are 5 to 7 p.m.
Festivities will take place in the beer garden. The event is open to all young professionals who either live or work in the Berkshires.
The cost is free for BYP member cardholders, and $5 for non-members..
Pittsfield: BBPW to honor award recipients
Berkshire Business and Professional Women will honor its 2014 career advancement scholarship award recipients at the organization’s monthly meeting Monday, Sept. 8, at Zucchini’s Restaurant, 1331 North St.
Networking takes place at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the awards at 6. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Berkshires: Truckers’ tax returns due Tuesday
Federal highway use tax returns for truckers and other owners of heavy highway vehicles are due in most cases by Tuesday, according to the Internal Revenue Service.
The date was pushed back two days in 2014 because the traditional due date of Aug. 31 falls on a Sunday this year.
The highway use tax applies to highway motor vehicles with a taxable gross weight of 55,000 pouinds or more, which generally includes trucks, truck tractors and buses.

Great Barrington: Community Center gets $1,500
Berkshire South Regional Community Center received a $1,500 award from Lee Bank to support field trip experiences for youngsters who participated in this summer’s Action Adventure Camp.
Lee Bank’s second year supporting the program allowed the youngsters to attend the Berkshire Museum, Lake Mansfield Picnic Day and the Lupa Zoo.
