Stockbridge Chamber elects officers at annual meeting
The Stockbridge Chamber of Commerce elected new officers for the 2016-17 term on Nov. 4 at its annual meeting at the Red Lion Inn's Fire House.
Mike Duffy of the Norman Rockwell Museum was elected president; Michele Kotek of the Red Lion Inn, past president; Margaret Kerswill of Mutability in Motion, vice president; Jeff Bell of the Inn at Stockbridge, assistant vice president; Susan Higa of the Red Lion Inn, secretary; and Tara Young of Berkshire Theatre Group, treasurer.
Joining the board as members-at-large are: Phil Coleman of Heirlooms Jewelry; Camilo Manrique of 1862 Seasons on Main B&B; Brian Weinrich of the Federal House Inn; Valerie Laurizio of the National Shrine of Divine Mercy; and Jessi Meagher of Wheeler and Taylor.
DOR upgrading tax system for state business owners
The Massachusetts Department of Revenue will roll out the second phase of its new tax revenue system, MassTaxConnect, to business owners on Monday, Nov. 30. The first phase was launched last November to a small group of taxpayers.
MassTaxConnect will replace WebFile for Business as the new web portal for businesses to file and pay taxes. Individuals income taxpayers will be included by the end of 2017.

Bonbons from Chocolate Springs are among the items selected in the best sweets category by Yankee Magazine in the the third annual Yankee Editors Choice Food Awards 2015.
