BTCF announces first round of 2016 grants
The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation has released the first round of deadlines for competitive grants for Berkshire County organizations in fiscal 2016.
They cover the period from January through March. The winter cycle of deadlines is open to regional nonprofits, students and schools.
For nonprofits: Harvard Business School's "Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management, applications due March 1; the Green Pastures Fund, applications due March 1; the James and Robert Hardman Fund for North Adams, application deadline March 1; The Fund for Williamstown, application deadline April 15.
For students: The Alice and Richard Henriquez Memorial Fund/Youth World Awareness Program, application deadline Feb. 1; The Simple Gifts Fund, application deadline March 30.
For schools: The James C. Kapteyn Endowment Fund, application deadline Feb. 2; the Lenox Education Enrichment Foundation, application deadline, Feb. 28.

MLSC opens first round of FY 2016 Accelerator Loan Program for companies
The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center has launched the first round of its fiscal 2016 Accelerator Loan Program. Early stage life sciences companies in Massachusetts are eligible to apply.
The program provides working capital to promising early-stage life sciences companies that are still in the process of developing their science or technology, and to position these companies for subsequent investment.
In this round, the maximum loan for which these companies can apply is $750,000 per company.

Porchlight receives grant from Berkshire Bank
Porchlight VNA/Home Care has received a $2,500 grant from Berkshire Bank to support its Parent Child Health Program.
The grant will continue the agency's work with mothers and their newborns in the home setting.
