State gas prices fall further; down another three cents
Gas prices in Massachusetts dropped another three cents this week, and have now fallen 22 cents over the last seven weeks, according to AAA Northeast.
AAA's survey of state gas prices on Monday found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.84 per gallon. The Massachusetts price is one cent above the national average for regular unleaded. At this time last year, the state's average price was 24 cents higher at $2.08.
The range in prices in the latest AAA state survey is 73 cents from a low of $1.66 to a high of $2.39.
Hosta Hill receives matching state grant from farm program
Hosta Hill in Great Barrington has received a $10,000 matching state grant through a program that helps beginning farmers grow or improve their farm operations. The local farm will use the funding for grain storage.
The funding was granted through the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources' (DAR) Matching Enterprise Grants for Agriculture (MEGA) Program.
Nine projects from across the state received a total of $78,582 in matching grants from the program in this round of funding.
Berkshire Co-op to hold annual growers meeting on Feb. 3
Berkshire Co-op Market will hold its annual growers meeting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at Berkshire South Regional Community Center.
Invitations have already been sent for this year's meeting, but it is not an invite-only event. Any community member who wishes to attend is welcome to do so. But questions and comments are reserved only for farmers and suppliers.
