State employee charitable campaign is underway

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is conducting its statewide annual charitable campaign, known as COMECC. for all state employees. The campaign raises close to $1.2 million annually with almost $65,000 designated to Berkshire County charities.

To be eligible for designation of employee pledges, charitable organizations must apply for and be accepted to listing in the annual brochure distributed both in hard copy and online to all state workplaces in the fall.

Applications for COMECC 2017, conducted from September to December 2016, are now available at on the Charity Resource Page.

Applications and re-applications must be returned to Action for Boston Community Development, the Boston-based statewide manager for COMECC, by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 4.

March deadline set for BTCF's Fund for Williamstown

The Fund for Williamstown, a fund of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, has set Tuesday, March 15 as the deadline to submit a letter of intent for 2016 applications.


The fund invited applications for innovative projects and services that benefit residents of Williamstown and help create a vibrant community responsive to diverse needs and voices.

Applicants will learn the status of their proposals by Sunday, March 20. The deadline to submit full applications is Friday, April 1.
