Shire City Sanctuary begins Kickstarter campaign

Shire City Sanctuary has launched a Kickstarter fund to add new and advanced tools to the cache of the makerspace.

Equipment to be purchased includes an Ultimaker 2 Extended 3D Printer; a digital CNC Router; carousel screen printer; wolf dressrooms; a large formate vinyl cutter; and tools for the shared commercial kitchen space.

Shire City Sanctuary is a community arts makerspace and events space that serves as a creative repurposing of the historic Notre Dame Church building on 40 Melville St. in Pittsfield's Upstreet Cultural District.

BCC holding community shred day on campus Monday

Berkshire Community College and Valley Green Shredding will hold a community shredding event Monday at BCC's campus at 1350 West St.

The hours are 9 a.m. to noon. Members of the community can bring documents they wish to be shredded. There is no charge.

BFMC holding one-day production assistant workshop

The Berkshire Film and Media Collaborative will be holding a one-day workshop, "How to be a Production Assistant", on Saturday, May 7. The hours are 1 to 4 p.m.
