Former Berkshire doctor to be honored posthumously
The Columbia County Services Board will posthumously honor former Berkshire doctor Dennis "Denny" Marcus at its 16th annual dinner on Wednesday.
The event takes place at 5 p.m. at Kozel's Restaurant in Ghent, N.Y. The cost is $30. Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
Marcus, who died in 2015, represented the Berkshires for five years as a participating member of the Governor's Commission on Mental Health State Advisory Council.
He worked at Main Street Human Resources in Great Barrington. In 1987, he incorporated South County Psychiatric and Psychotherapy Center as the smallest licensed out patient mental health clinic in Massachusetts.

UCP of Berkshire County to receive regional ADDP award
Pittsfield native Matthew Hunt of UCP Berkshire County has won the Direct Support Professional Award for the Western Region from the Association of Development Disabilities Providers.
Hunt, who has worked for UCP of Berkshire County since last July, will receive his award at the ADAP Conference and Expo on Thursday at the DCU Center in Worcester.
The Framingham-based ADDP is committed to ensuring, strengthening and promoting the viability of community-based organizations.
Community Enterprises celebrates 40 years of service
Community Enterprises of Northampton, which has an office in Pittsfield, will hold a luncheon to celebrate its 40th anniversary on Thursday, May 12.
