Labor council opens food pantry for Verizon strikers
The Berkshire Central Labor Council has opened a food pantry for IBEW/CWA workers who are on strike against Verizon. The strike is now in its sixth week.
The food pantry is located at the IUE/CWA Local 255 Kennedy Hall at 789 Tyler St. It is open from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday. All striking Verizon members are encouraged to attend as often as once a week. The pantry is stocked with non-perishable food items.
Donated items can be delivered to Kennedy Hall between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, or anytime to workers on the picket lines.

Behold! New Lebanon is opening for season on June 4
Behold! New Lebanon, the first living museum of contemporary rural American life, will open on Saturday, June 4 with a variety of events.
Opening day events include a walk along the Wyomanoc Creek and Corkscrew Rail Trail; gemstone identification and repairs; hops farms; how water powered the Shakers' workd; and border collie training and demonstration.

Art gallery opening on June 3
Gallery 4 will open with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 3 at the gallery on 4 Water St.
The gallery features work mainly by local artists. It will be open from 1-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
