BMC relocating community infusion service to Hillcrest
Berkshire Medical Center is relocating its Community Infusion Service, which provides infusion treatments for patients with a variety of illnesses and conditions, to a newly renovated space at the BMC Cancer and Infusion Center at its Hillcrest campus on Tor Court.
The move is expected to be completed by Monday. The new unit will be built adjacent to the Hematology Oncology infusion area on the fourth floor. It will be in a separate space to provide confidential and expert care for oncology and community infusion patients.
Many of the nursing and pharmacy staff from the current infusion center at BMC will continue to provide these services in the new location.
1Berkshire workshop on cultural brokering
1Berkshire will hold a brown bag workshop titled, "Cultural Brokering", on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at Central Station, 66 Allen St. The hours are noon to 1 p.m.
The session will explore the links between language and culture and what it means to be culturally and linguistically competent. Gwendolyn Hampton Van Sant of Multicultural Bridge is the presenter.

Proclamation signings for Older Worker Week
Pittsfield Mayor Linda M. Tyer and North Adams Mayor Richard Alcombright will each sign proclamations Monday encouraging employers to observe 2016 National Employ Older Workers Week.
The North Adams signing will take place at 10 a.m. in City Hall. The Pittsfield signing will be at 1 p.m. in Pittsfield City Hall. Representatives of workforce development agencies will be in attendance.
