ADAMS — The outdoor burning of brush and forestry debris — excluding grass, hay, leaves, stumps and demolition material — is permitted from Jan. 15 through May 1, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

All fires must be at least 75 feet away from any building, under control and attended to at all times.

A burn permit must be obtained before any burning can be done.

Permits can be obtained by calling Chief Forest Warden Dick Kleiner at (413) 743-0179, ext. 12, between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon, Monday through Friday, and on weekends at (413) 743-3592 between 9 a.m. and noon.
