HINSDALE -- A Hinsdale man escaped serious injury -- but not possible legal action -- following a one-vehicle crash in the town over the weekend.
The man in his late 50's, whom Hinsdale police didn't identify, was traveling alone on Ashmere Road near the Route 8 intersection just after 9 p.m. on Friday, when he lost control of his Ford F-150 pick up. The truck rolled over on its passenger side, trapping the driver, said officer Nancy Daniels.
Hinsdale emergency rescuers had to cut open the roof in order to extricate the man -- who wasn't wearing a seat belt. Once freed, the driver who was transported to Berkshire Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
"He's a very lucky man," said Daniels.
However, Daniels said charges are pending against the driver, the nature of which police wouldn't comment on as the crash remains under investigation.
