PITTSFIELD -- Pittsfield Police have yet to publicly identify the victim in the deadly two-car crash over the weekend on South Street.
The name of the 25-year-old Berkshire man killed in a head-on collision near the south entrance of the Country Club of Pittsfield, still wasn't being released by local authorities on Sunday.
The wreck occurred just before 5 p.m. on Saturday, involving one vehicle traveling southbound with two occupants, while the other was northbound with just the driver, police had said.
The passenger of the southbound vehicle was taken to Berkshire Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police also haven't released the names of the two drivers or information regarding the cause of the crash.
The fatal accident forced police to detour traffic around the crash scene for nearly three hours as South Street was closed from Crofut Avenue to Dan Fox Drive.
