DALTON -- Aaron Robb has been named the new assistant principal at Wahconah Regional High School, according to Central Berkshire Regional School District Superintendent William Cameron.

Robb has been a social studies teacher at Wahconah since 1997 and has played a leadership role at the school for many years.

Robb, who will start the job July 1, will succeed Martin Phillips, who has held the assistant position since 2002. Phillips is retiring.

Cameron acted on the recommendation of Wahconah's principal, James Conro, who, working with a selection committee, chose Robb from a field of nine applicants.

Robb co-chairs the Wahconah self-study efforts associated with the 2013 New England Association of Schools and Colleges re-accreditation visit. He also has served as a class adviser, as National Honor Society adviser, as Wahconah's baseball coach from 2004 through 2011, and as an assistant football coach at Wahconah for eight years.

A cum laude graduate in history from Western New England College, Robb holds a master's in education from Cambridge College. He, his wife Lynn, and their three children reside in Dalton.
