PITTSFIELD -- Don Gleason Pittsfield North rallied from a four-run deficit to defeat Dalton-Hinsdale 15-5 at Springside Park in the District I 12-year-old Little League Tournament on Monday.

Ryan Gaudette hit a three-run home run and a single, while Matt Newton drilled a two-run homer and a single to lead Gleason. Anthony Whitney and Devon Walker each had two hits. Hunter Brasie was the winning pitcher.

Derrick Herber had two doubles and Matthew Emerson and Patrick Butler each had a hit for Dalton-Hinsdale. Butler, Luke Steinman and Tyler Cowdery pitched.

Dalton-Hinsdale had a 5-1 lead after two innings, but Pittsfield scored seven runs in the top of the third and three more in the top of the fourth to take command.

Tonight is the winners' bracket final between North Adams and Pittsfield South. The game begins at 5:30 p.m.

The winner advances to Friday's championship game here.

Gulls 7, SteepleCats 6

NEWPORT, R.I. -- Trailing 7-3 to the host Gulls in the top of the ninth inning, the North Adams SteepleCats rallied, but fell short, dropping their third straight game.

The Gulls win gave the Rhode Island team a sweep of the two-game series with North Adams this season.

North Adams took the lead in the first, as Shane Klemcke socked a solo home run, his first of the year. Bur Newport rallied with three runs in the second and four in the fourth.

The SteepleCats got single runs in the third and fifth innings and then added three more in the ninth. RBI doubles by Shane O'Connell and Connor Biggio were the big hits in that final inning.

Charlie Law took the loss for North Adams, (15-11). Daniel Wright was the winner improving to 5-0. Jeff Roy had three hits for North Adams.
